Arthur Taylor & Nancy Arnold

Carrie Works Shonesy told the story that NANCY ARNOLD and her brothers were the only family that came to America. Many years later, they received word that they had been left a considerable estate from their parents (apparently still in England.) They hired a lawyer to go to New York to claim their inheritance for them. On his return, the lawyer told they there had been a mistake -- that no large fortune (estate) was left to them. However, very soon, the lawyer suddenly came up with a large amount of money -- without an apparent source. He and his wife went on a trip to Europe and he spent huge amounts of money in the area where he lived. The family believed (but had no proof) that the lawyer kept the large amount of money for himself -- and lied to NANCY ARNOLD and her brothers about it.
