This line was considered as a possible ancestral line for the Planter John Family. After more research I feel that information on this line is not as strong as that of Zachary Lewis. Lewis was born in Warwick Co ca 1683. He was the son of JOHN
LEWIS, b 1663 in York Co who had moved to Warwick Co from York Co This
JOHN was the son of David Lewis Sr, of York Co, who had come to VA by 1638
and died in 1669. JOHN
Sr had two sons. Owen b ca 1683, probably by a 1st wife who may have been a
daughter of a neighbor, Owen Davis. JOHN Sr's !st wife died and he
remarried to Jane, daughter of Enos and Elizabeth Macintosh of York Co and
had John Jr b 1688. JOHN Sr died shortly after this, and Jane
remarried to John Nobling. Warwick Records: Court 7 Jan 1713: p.233 "Thos Hansford purchased of John Lewis, son of JOHN LEWIS dec'd all the lands etc devised by sd dec' unto his sd son John, and Jane, the wife of John Noblin, late the relic of the sd dec'd being still living and having her right of dower in the premises, prays that she might have her third right of dower assigned to her by the court.
