At this time it is not proven that JOHN HANNON/HANNAN was the son of Alexander Hanna & his wife Mary ?Warren. He may have been one of the under aged children mentioned in Alexander’s inventory. JOHN named a son Walter Warren Hannon and had ties to the Scroggins family as it appears Alexander & Mary did. Also John Hannon, son of JOHN HANNON, named a daughter Mary Warren Hannon - carrying the Warren name down further in their family lineage. The last name of GRACE is unknown, JOHN's wife GRACE was Executrix, and Nearest a Kin in 1769 was Mary Hardey and Mary Linder Hardey (meaning her kin - not his). Hannons Hard Bargain Pd at 6th Decr 1769 Rent & Annum 10/4 Sterling Charged to the Rent Roll Charles County foresaid By virtue of a Special Warrant granted out of his Lordships Land Office unto JOHN HANNON of Prince Georges County to Resurvey the two following Tracts or Parcels of Land lying and being in Charles County and contiguous to each other, vizt, Boswells Desert originally on the twelfth day of Octr Anno Domini 1722 granted unto a certain Wlliam Boswell for 100 acres under New Rent and Marys Delight originally on the eleventh day of October Anno Domini 1731 granted unto a certain William Boswell for 74 acres under New Rent To Resurvey the aforesaid his Tracts to correct and amend all Errors and to add the Contiguuous vacancy bearing date the 5th day of September Anno Domini 1767 Etc I Theophilus Hamon Deputy Surveyor under his Excellency Horato Sharpe Esqr Governor of Maryland have carefully Resurveyed the aforesaid two Tacts or parcels of Land according to their ?Antient ?weeks and bounds and find Boswells Desert to contain one hundred acres agreeable to the Patent thereof, but find Marys Delight to contain no more than Sixty six acres and an half and find that the said two Tracts Interfer fourteen acres and an half acre so there appears to be a Deficiency of twenty two acres in the whole the two Tracks containing no more than one hundred and fifty two acres clear of each other, to which I have added one hundred and six acres and one quarter of an acre of vacancy and Reduced the whole into one Entire Tract of Land now called Hannons Hard Bargain and Bounded as follows Vizt. Benjain Adams ) In Chancery June term 1802 @ ) William Hanner ) The said cause standing ready for decision, the bill exhibits publication all other proceedings were by the Chancellor read and considered and the order passed at February term last for giving notice to the defendant having been duly published and no person having appeared agreeably to the tenor thereof and the Chancellor being satisfied that the omission to record the deed in the Bill mentioned was without any fraduluent design or intention in any persons whatever, and that the complainant hath a fair and equitable claim to the land therein mentioned so far as the said Deed can operate. It is Hereupon this tenth day of August Eighteen hundred and two by Alexander Contee Hanson Chancellor and by the authority of this court adjudged ordered and decreed that the said deed which is hereto annexed and which is a deed dated on the Fifth day of March in the year Seventeen hundred and sixty eight and executed by Alexander Hanner of Charles County deceased for conveying unto John Hanner of the same county the several tracts of land called Boswells Desert and Marys Delight containing together eighty seven acres, lying and being in Charles County be recorded within Six months from the date of this decree amongst the land records of Charles County or of the General Court for the Western Shore and that when so recorded it shall be taken and considered against the party who made it his heirs, devisees or Executors consequences to all intents and purposes as if it had been recorded within the time prescribed by law, provided Nevertheless that the said deed altho recorded agreeably to the decree, shall not destroy or in any manner affect the title of any purchaser of the said lands (if any such there be) who hath purchased the same since the date of the said deed and without notice thereof, whether the purchase hath been by contract only or by deed acknowledged and recorded agreeably to law and provided also that the deed hereby directed to be recorded shall not in any manner affect the creditors of the party (if any such there be) who have trusted him since the date thereof – C. Howard Reg Cur Can This Indenture made the Fifth day of march in the year of our lord God one thousand seven hundred and sixty eight, Between Alexander Hanner of Charles County in the province of Maryland, Carpenter, of the one part, and John Hanner of Charles County, Carpenter, of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Alexander Hanner for and in consideration of the sum of One hundred and fifteen pounds sixteen shillings current money, in hand paid by the said John Hanner the receipt where of the said Alexander Hanner doth hereby acknowledge and of every part thereof doth hereby acquit exonerate and fully discharge the said John Hanner as also for divers other causes and valuable considerations him the said Alexander Hanner more especially hereunto moving hath granted bargained and sold, and by these presents he the said Alexander Hanner doth grant bargain ad sell unto the said John Hanner his heirs and assigns forever all these several tracts or parcels of land hereafter named being in the possession of the said Alexander Hanner Viz all that part of a tract of land called Boswells Desert containing Fifty acres, all that part of a tract of land called Marys Delight containing thirty seven acres of land, containing in the whole eighty seven acres of land be the same more or less. To Have and to Hold the said lands and premises together with all and singular the improvements conveniences and advantages to the said Eighty seven acres of land belonging or in any manner of way appertaining to the only proper use and behoof of him the said John Hanner his heirs and assigns forever and to no other use intent or purpose whatsoever, And he the said Alexander Hanner doth for himself his heirs Executors and administrators covenant promise grant and agree to and with the said John Hanner his heirs and assigns the aforesaid Eighty seven acres of land and every part and parcel thereof and Further the said Alexander Hanner doth for himself his heirs Executors administrators and administrators covenant promise and agree to and with the said John Hanner his heirs and assigns the to save and keep harmless of and from all cost and charges that shall legally accrue in defense of the title hereby devised from the said Alexander Hanner to the said John Hanner of the aforesaid two tracts or parcels of land of every part and parcel thereof. And the said Alexander Hanner doth for himself his heirs Executors administrators further covenant promise grant and agree to and with the said John Hanner his heirs and assigns, that he the said Alexander Hanner and his heirs - line unreadable - and at all times hereafter, at the reasonable request, and at the proper cost and charges in the law of him the said John Hanner and his heirs and assigns do make acknowledge suffer and execute any further Deed or Instrument in writing such as the said John Hanner his heirs for assigns his or their council learned in the law shall reasonably devise aduce? Or require for the further and better assurance surety and such making the lands and premises aforesaid unto the said John Hanner his heirs and assigns forever. Dent On the Back of the aforegoing Deed is thus written to wit, Charles County March ye 5th 1768 Came Alexander Hanner party to the within Deed before us the subscribers two of his Lordships the Right honorable the Lord Proprietary Justices for the County aforesaid and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed and the premises therein mentioned to be the right title and Estate of the within named John Hanner his heirs and assigns forever, according to the purport true intent and meaning thereof. At the same time came the wife of the said Alexander Hanner who being by us examined a part from and out of the hearing of her husband (the said Alexander Hanner) touching her said right of dower to the said land and premises relinquished her right hereto and acknowledged she did the same freely and voluntarily, and that she was not induced thereto by any threats or ill usage of her said husband so fear of his displeasure Taken acknowledged in the presence of two of the Lordships Justices of the said County Jno.
