Did one of my ancestors kill the King of England?

From the March 6, 2017 TV show "Who Do You Think You Are?" - see story on  Courtney Cox.   From the show "The episode also demonstrated one problem that WDYTYA is running into:  bigger and better hooks for stories.  We have already seen Valerie Bertinelli get excited about learning her ancestor was King Edward I, so how does the show top that? "  This show links both Courtney Cox & Valarie Bertinelle to one of my ancestors - King Edward I.

King Edward I is the 18^th great grandfather of Valarie Bertinelle; the 20^th great grandfather of Courtney Cox & the 22^nd great grandfather of Dianne Conaway Blankenstein

                                           Supposedly King Edward II (noted to be a very poor King) was kept a prisoner in the castle of Thomas de Berkeley and was most likely murdered by Roger Mortimer (the lover of the Queen) who was executed for his crimes. Hugh Le Despenser the younger sided with the King and died in the coup.  He took care of the King’s money & was hated by the Queen.    So one of our (Courtney & Dianne) ancestors most likely murdered the King of England (King Edward II)
