Possible Ancestry of Sarah Turner

NOEL TURNER is best known as a soldier of the Revolutionary War. One night while his regiment camped on the land of another Turner, he met Mr. Turner's daughter, SARAH. NOEL ask SARAH to wait and marry him. After the war was over, he returned and they were married. They moved to Mobile, Alabama, where they are both buried.

Sarah Turner’s father had to be there before 1779, yet after February 1767 – Thomas only one that fits & his wife lists married daughters  Sarah Turner & Mary Turner  in her will.  I think Thomas Turner is old enough to be Sarah’s father if he was old enough to get plat November 1767.  Noel Turner’s brothers John Jr. & William both married women by the name of Mary – wonder if either could have been Sarah’s sister.

Augusta, Georgia is directly across the Savannah River from Hamburg, SC.

Beech Island          Turner directly below Beach Island, is the land of Abraham Turner, brother of Noel Turner

NOEL was detailed and sent to Beech Island to seize meal for the troupes at Charles Town

NOEL stated that he was at only at two battles -  the Battle of Galphin on the Savannah River and at the siege of Augusta, Georgia,

Fort Galphin, a small stockade twelve miles below Augusta that was the home of George Galphin, the deputy superintendent of Indian affairs, and garrisoned by two companies of infantry.

John Turner, Noel’s father owned a part of Beech Island.

John Turner, Father of Noel Turner owned land at the Point at the mouth of the Upper Three Runs on the Savanna River

when called into service NOEL lived in Barnwell District, South Carolina.    On map see Charlestown,

Augusta,  Beech Island, & Galpin           Augusta & Galphin were the battles Noel Turner was in

North Augusta is a city in Aiken and Edgefield counties in the U.S. state of South Carolina, on the north bank of the Savannah River. It lies directly across the river, and state border, from Augusta, Georgia.

from Ogeeche in Georgia             to Edisto in South Carolina

Arthur Conaway already had land on 3 runs creek of Savannah River  in 1771 (100 acres) Granville County, SC, etc. when John Turner (father of Noel) wrote his will there 1774.
