(III) KENDALL (2) son of Kendall (I) BRYANT, was born in Reading in 1709; died at the home of his sons, John or Thomas at Jaffrey, New Hampshire, November 30, 1797, aged 88 years. The history of Jaffrey states that he came from Pepperell, Massachusetts to Jaffrey, and lived on lot 14, range 4, in that town. His homestead remained in the family until the death of Colonel George Bryant in Jaffrey in 1865. Later the place was owned by Samuel D. Jewell. KENDALL BRYANT, his wife, and son John were charter members of the first church in Jaffrey. He married MARY PARKER, who died at Jaffrey, March 17, 1794, aged 84 years. Children: 1. Thomas 2. John, born 1750; died at Jaffrey, March 14, 1800, aged 89 years, eight months; married Lucy Lawrence, daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Martin) Lawrence; they had 6 children at Jaffrey.

When the first church was incorporated, Mr. BRIANT, wife, and son John were members. He m. MARY MARTIN, who d. March 17, 1794, a. 84 years, 2 mos., 19 dys. He d. Nov. 30, 1797, a. 88 yrs., 8 mos., 13 dys. His two sons, John and Thomas, settled in Jaffrey.

P. 37 EARLY SETTLERS IN JAFFREY - The first cider-mills in the district were built by KENDAL BRIANT and Benj. Lawrence. Before they were built, cider was made by pounding the apples in a wooden bowl, and pressing them in a cheese-press.
