Saml Ashe --esquire Governor & in the full sum of five Hundred pounds to be paid to the said Samuel Ashe-- and his successor in office and Assign. The Condition of this obligation is such that where as the above bounded HUBBARD KERNILL - hath the day of the date hereof obtained a license to be Joined in Holy Matrimony with ELISABETH DIXON. therefore then shall be no lawful Impediment why the said HUBBARD KERNALL - and ELISABETH DIXON - should not be lawfully Joined together in Holy Matrimony. That then the above obligation shall be void. Otherwise to remain in full force and effect.

HUBBARD CARNAL, born c. 1760's in Va., married ELIZABETH DIXON on Jan. 21, 1797 in Caswell Co., N. C. ELIZABETH was born in Va. c. 1775. Nine offspring were born to them. Four known children were born in N. C.: William Dixon Carnell b. Feb 14, 1800 in Person Co., N. C.; John W. Carnell B. Jan. 9, 1808; Edmund Dixon Carnell; Mildred A. Carnell b. Sept. 17, 1816.

HUBBARD CARNAL farmed in N. C. but decided to migrate to Tennessee. In 1819 HUBBARD CARNAL and his family settled in Reynoldsburg, Humphreys Co., Tn. Reynoldsburg was later absorbed by Waverly, Humphreys Co., Tn. when Waverly became the county seat. There they continued farming. HUBBARD CARNAL died in 1845 and is buried at the Carnell cemetery, Waverly, Humphreys Co., Tn. His widow ELIZABETH DIXON CARNAL, lived with her son, John W. Carnal, until her death before 1860. She is also buried at the Carnell Cemetery.

(CARNELL), son of Patrick and Mary Carnal of Caswell Co., N. C., Jan. 21, 1797, Caswell Co., N. C. They migrated to Humphreys Co., Tennessee in 1819. HUBBARD and ELIZABETH DIXON CARNELL had nine children. ELIZABETH died before 1860 and is buried in Humphreys Co., Tennessee.

State of Tennessee) Humphreys County ) I have this day made statement with John W. Carnell Guardian for W. H. Parker, Rufus N.Parker, W. L. Parker, A. G. Parker, P. M. Parker, E. C. Parker and Laona Parker minor heirs of HUBBARD CARNEAL DECEASED and report as follows to wit.

I find the guardian charged on settlement made him with him as executor of the last will and testament of HUBBARD CARNELL deceased with the sum of three thousand one hundred and eighty five dollars 67 5/6 cents of which sum the above named minors with two others is entitled to one Eights part which is three hundred and ninety eight dollars & 20 3/4 cents I take 2 shares as the above which is 398.20 3/4 8
