Payne - Parker researcher He believes Marianne Parker and Martha Parker are daughters of JAMES M. PARKER. Marianne's maiden name was Parker & she married Thomas H. Latimer. He was a witness on one of James M. Parker's deeds. They named their 2nd son James M. and Marianne & husband were living next door to James M. Parker on the 1850 census. Martha married E. K. Warren and her children in 1850 were John, Rufus, & Amanda which are names in the Parker line. Also Leona Parker, sister of Pytsil Parker who was under the guardianship of JAMES M. PARKER, was living with Martha & her husband on the 1850 census. Both of these females went to White County, Arkansas along with the Parker clan. Parker Evan W. Bolton settled in the northeastern part of Dallas County thirty-three years ago, and hence is to be classed with the pioneers of this county... [Thus it appears the Boltons & Parkers came to Dallas Co., Texas 1857.] --------- Breckinridge, Texas, (spelled with an "i" not "e" like the town in West Texas) is north of the intersection of Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway & Greenville Avenue, a mile east of Restland Cemetery and ten miles northeast of Downtown Dallas in Dallas County. In the 1840s families from Kentucky and Tennessee began arriving in the area. The first store was built about 1857, etc. A local post office was established in 1858 and was named for Kentucky statesman John C. Breckinridge who was vice president under James Buchanan in 1856. In 1867 a tornado caused considerable damage & in 1873 Richardson was established a few miles north of Breckinridge. The businesses, post office, etc. moved to Richardson where the rail road was. The Breckinridge post office ceased in 1874. PARKER and ANNA CARNELL. ------- HUMPHREYS COUNTY CEMETERY BOOK Jill Garrett & Gladys Anderson John Parker died before Sept. 1847, when J. W. Carnell was made guardian of his minor heirs: Wm. H., Rufus N., Montgomery D., Asa W., Catherine E., Leona, & P. M. Parker. [The Pytsil M. Parker born July 1841 died November 1858, listed with J. M. PARKER family on the 1850 Census is believed to be the son of John Parker who died in 1847 in Humphrey Co., Tenn. John Parker left John W. Carnell as the guardian of his children including P. M. Parker. John's wife was probably John W. Carnell's sister - daughter of Hubbard Carnell since Hubbard lists the children as his heirs. P. M. Parker was later under the guardianship of J. M. Parker. It is believed, therefore that P. M. was related rather than the son of J. M. Parker. This John Parker was not J. M. PARKER's brother John --perhaps a cousin-- or perhaps ANNA PARKER & John Parker's wife were sisters - thus meaning that she was ANNA CARNELL PARKER - the daughter of Hubbard Carnell & Elizabeth Dixon. Although this has not been positively proven because the documents in the Humphreys County, Tennessee Courthouse were destroyed by fire it is more or less accepted by circumstances. ANNA & JAMES M. PARKER named their first daughter Pamela Hubbard Parker and another daughter Malvina Dixon Parker - after ?grandparents Hubbard Carnell & Elizabeth Dixon. PARKER settled in Dallas County at Pleasant Valley on a farm in the 1850's. He was also a Methodist preacher. A brother John W. Parker, had founded the first general store in the Murphy area in 1850. They were the sons of Joshua and Mary Patterson Parker. James was born October 1, 1801 in Shelby County, Kentucky. In 1820 he married ANNA CARNELL at Humphrey County, Tennessee. She was born July 27, 1798 in North Carolina to Hubbard and Elizabeth Dixon Carnell, and she expired between 1870-1880 in Dallas County. To them were born ten children. They were: 1. Warren Dixon Parker was born July 11, 1822 in Humphrey County, Tennessee. In the 1850 Census he was listed as a school teacher in Humphrey County, Ky. and was married to Jennie O'Brien on Feb. 15, 1874. 2. William Clark Parker was born 1827 in Humphrey County, Tn. 3. Amanda Leona (Lena) Parker was born Nov. 14, 1829 in Humphrey County, Tn. She married James M. Dunlap May 15, 1851 in Collin County. Lena died Nov. 22, 1907 and is buried in the Wylie Cemetery. 4. Oliver M. L. Parker was born in 1832 in Humphrey County, Tn. He was a Methodist preacher. 5. Malvina Dixon Parker was born Dec. 7, 1833 in Humphrey County, Tn. and married Lewis Comer Smith July 24, 1852. She died Dec. 28, 1862 in Arkansas. 6. Fredonia Parker was born 1836 and married to A. B. Hooper Nov. 26, 1865. 7. Frances Jane Parker was born Aug. 11, 1837 in Humphrey County, Tn. and married E. W. Bolton March 11, 1846. This couple farmed in Pleasant Valley. Frances Jane died in childbirth June 1, 1884. She is buried in the Race Catlett Cemetery, Collin Co. 8. Anna Augusta Parker was born 1839 in Humphrey County, Tn. and married W. P. Armstrong. 9. Pytsil M. Parker was born July 1841 and died Nov. 1858 in Humphrey County, Tn. 10. Pamela Parker (no dates available.) Rev. JAMES M. PARKER died June 12, 1859. His will made out Dec. 12, 1858, was filed in Dallas County August 29, 1859. [Many errors noted in this publication - it's Humphreys County, Tennessee, not Humphrey. Warren Dixon was Warren Dickson per many documents, & he was a teacher in Humphreys Co., Tenn, not Ky. The Carnell lineage has not yet been proven for Anna. Fredonia Parker m. Parker, Minor heir of Hubbard Cearnall decd & beg leave to make the following report, To wit, I find the Guardian Charged on settlement made with him on the 1st day of December 1854, with the sum of fifty one & 60/100 Dollars $51.60 interest on the above sum for 12 months is 3.09 1/2 ---------- $54.69 1/2 I find the Guardian entitled to the following Credits, To wit, I allow the guardian for his trouble Paid clerk for making & recording this settlement Subtract three dollars nine 4 1/2 cents from fifty four dollars and 69 1/2 cents, will leave in the hands of the guardian the sum of Fifty one dollars & sixty cents, $51.60 all of which is respectfully submitted This the 1st day of December 1855 Levi M. Know all men by these presents that I J. M. PARKER of the County of Dallas State of Texas being of sound mind and memory and knowing that it is appointed unto man once to die and after this the Judgement. Do make constitute and ordain this my last will and Testament. And first I recommend my soul to God who gave it to be saved through Jesus Christ our Lord. And my body to be buried in a decent Christian like manner. 2nd I give and bequeath to my loving and Effectionate wife ANNA PARKER (200) two hundred acres of land Including our present home that being all the land I have with the exception of (19 1/3) Nineteen and one third acres it being my undivided In tract in (658) six hundred and fifty eight acres of land conveyed by Robert McCullough to J. M. PARKER, W. Clark Parker, and O. M. L. Parker containing in all six hundred and fifty eight acres. 3rd My will and desire is at the death or inter marriage of my wife ANNA. The two hundred acres of land be Equally divided between my two daughters Frances Jane Bolton and Anna Augusta Parker. 4th The Remaining nineteen and one third acre of land I bequeath to my daughter Amanda Leona Dunlap to be stricken off so as to have a forth acre tract about to be bought of W. Clark Parker and O. M. L. Parker by James M. Dunlap. 5th I also give and bequeath to my wife ANNA my Negro boy Gilbert, one mule known by the name of Bets one Pony mare and colt six cows and calves 1 heifer and 2 steers all my hogs my watch and shot gun house hold and Kitchen Furniture all my Farming tools and carpenters tools to be used for the benefit of the Farm all the above named articles as bequeathed to be for the special use and support of my wife ANNA PARKER during her natural life or widowhood. 6th My will is at the death or intermarriage of my wife ANNA PARKER the negro boy Gilbert together with all the effects or proceeds of said property mentioned in the 5th Item to be equally divided between all my lawful heirs. 7th I give and bequeath to my daughter, Anna Augusta Parker my large Family Bible one mule known by the name of Jim Saddle and Bridle one bed and furniture two cows known by the name of Rose and Lady and their calves. 8th Settle or pay all my debts all of which I want done without further expense than the Recording of this will. 9th I further will and desire that my son in law E. W. Bolton who now lives in the house with me be permitted to stay and cultivate the Farm and aid in the support of his mother in law so long as he manages as he had done here to fore. 10th I further desire that my son W. Clark Parker and E. W. Bolton and Oliver M. L. Parker assist my wife ANNA in attending to all her business transactions, all of which I severally submit this the 20th day of December A.D. 1858 given under my hand and seal J. M.
